Each of the actors on this top 10 list also has the accreditation of having a film acting career that spans over more than three decades.

Movies are a big influence on every generation. To have been born of a generation, which witnessed the 70′s popular actor that became the 80′s, icons of the 90′s then became the Golden Elite of Hollywood, well, how lucky are we?

10.Anthony Hopkins is the only Brit named on the list, but who can forget his fear inducing performances as Dr. Hannibal Lecter in Silence of the Lamb. A role he reprises with every bit the hair-raising factor in the sequel entitled Hannibal. He gives a stunning performance as Col. William Ludlow in the equally stunning Legends of the Fall. He can be seen as John Casey in the newly released film called Bobby. With a sterling career there is not a genre he cannot convincingly put his eloquence and genius talent to.

9. Harvey Keitel re-emerged in the 90′s in Quentin Tarantino’s Reservoir Dogs after years of being just on the brink of true Hollywood stardom. He gave outstanding performances like Ray Donlan in Cop Land, Winston ‘The Wolf’ Wolfe in Pulp Fiction, and who can forget him as Investigator Hal Slocumb in Thelma and Louis. As an actor whose career spans over more than three decade, his is a career that begun under the director of Martin Scorsese in film classics like Taxi Driver and Mean Streets

Through the unpredictability of himself as man, as an actor, and the roles he brings to life, he remains a favorite and well sought after actor whose career like the others noted span across decades.

6. Jon Voight gave a profoundly moving performance as Ed Gentry in the Deliverance, a films that left many of us never the same again. His cool laid back manner brought to films like Heat, Mission Impossible an Enemy of the State never leave wanting for anything more than to catch him in his next role or his next film to be witness to his brilliance all over again.

5 Jack Nicholson can only be described as one of the greatest actors of our time in that we are never short of fear or total exhilaration after beholding his effortless performances. As he takes every role and stamps his own personal Jack-ness onto it, we are taken on a journey that only Jack can take the audience on. It is always one heck of a ride. He as an actor has starred in so many film roles each releasing a more raw and dynamic aspect of himself. He continues to light the silver even today as he did of yesterday.
